Currently my setup is that my BT home hub sits in the hallway downstairs in my house and my laptop/ps3/xbox and everything else that connects to the internet is all in my bedroom upstairs and along a bit.
So I was thinking it would make more sense to have the router in the same room as all the equipment that needs it with the idea of increasing my connection speed.
The problem is though, that when connected to any phone socket other than the one it's usually connected to, I get no internet signal at all. I tried two other connection points and got nothing so moved it back to where it was to begin with, which must have upset something as my IP profile for my line was put down to 135Kbps
but it seems to be picking up since this morning.
Am I missing something obvious or is there any particular reason I'm getting no internet connection in other rooms?
