Moving CPU to different motherboard

Hi just a quickie, if I move my CPU to a different mobo, will I need to use extra thermal paste or will it be ok as the same cooler will be used?

If so, what's the best way of cleaning the old lot off?

Clean and reapply, you may trap air bubbles by re-using and that is not what you want.
