moving documents in vista

i have my music and photos on a seperate storage hard drive (E)and i moved the vista folders there
now i am in the process of removing the storage drive to go in the next build,i want to transfer the folders back to the c drive so the host pc is still usable but i want to keep the music and photo files on the storage drive so i can move it to a new build.
it was easy to move the folders in vista ,is it easy to move them back but keep the info on my storage drive

So you want to keep the information in one place and having it on another?

If thats what you want to do just copy the stuff instead of moving it.

Altho im a bit confused on what it is you actually want to do....

no not copying just returning the empty music and photo folder profiles to the c drive and taking the e drive out to go in new build with my music and photos on
original pc is going in sons room and he will need the music and photo folders empty for his stuff

Just create a new user for your son and he'll have a new profile with empty music and video folders.

just move the location in properties, when it asks if you want to move all the files back, hit no.
