I am currently on the verge of getting a MacBook to replace my dying PC laptop and I have a mail archive (Outlook Express) that I have transferred from PC to PC since June 1999 and I want to move this to the Mac.

Has anyone here done it? The files are in .dbx format. I had a "google" and there does seem to be a way to convert them into Mac Mail format but just wanted to know if there is anything I should be aware of from someone who has actually done it.

Thanks

During the set up of you shiny new Mac, you will be asked if you want to transfer your files across, just follow the instructions on screen. Usually you need to connect the two computers together and the OS X set up does the rest. That's the theory anyway, I haven't tried it myself. :)

I've never used that feature, but i'm pretty sure it can only be done with 2 OS X machines rather than Windows -> Mac.

Well Mail has an import function, so i'm guessing you *should* be able to export from Outlook Express and then import with Mail.
