Hi all. Hope all is well
Just popping on here for a bit of advice really relating future employment.
So, short backstory. Over the years I have struggled with employment around undiagnosed/untreated ADHD and Autism. It's taken quite some time from diagnosis to gaining help/mediction around my issues (7 years waiting on NHS waiting list for both diogs) and I am indeed feeling more grateful and hopeful now about moving forward.
So, here's my problem now. My last employment was a year or 2 ago with the NHS. This was my second role with the NHS. (First role was a fair way away and I resigned due to it being a good 2 hour travel there and usually around 3 hours back due to public transport). Due to my issues at the time around my on symptoms that I didn't understand, there was a lot of mis or none communication on my part. This, I assume was the main issue (one or 2 other thing happened but I believe this was the brunt of the issue) I stopped communicating etc etc and eventually lost my job. Rightly so, of course. With this comes a bad reference.
Now, moving forward. When applying for new roles, even in different sectors I find that I am given the initial job offer, start date etc but when it comes to the reference part, offer has been taken away. This has happened a few times. Admittedly, it is my problem. I am just stuck in terms of a way forward now.
something else I am wanting to ask is, do the CPD courses get recognised? I am looking into oing some Reed courses over the coming months. Do/would employers recognise these?
Has anyone any advice or any ideas in moving forward? Very my appreciated! Thanks so much!
Enjoy your week all
