Moving forward, forms and databases?

Hi, Im finding it a bit overwhelming, can anyone recommend which technology route I should go down for buiding sites with forms including dynamic database connections that can write to and pull out queirys live. I have been looking at asp.net and visual developer and its quite good but I presume you need a asp.net host for that.

php can do what your asking and is easy to learn and widely supported. Have a look through the php manual at www.php.net

classic asp would also be fine for this and would be supported by most hosts out of the box.
