i am limited at my exchange as no good deals and 8meg best i can get , but bt has peeved me off for the last time with this FUP they enforce monthly after going over 80g downloads in a month and this blasted homehub 2 with pathetic wireless range , anyone know if the virgin wireless router is better than the BT one? it looks like NEtgear ....

Virgin ADSL or Virgin cable? I'm presuming you mean ADSL, in which case don't do it. BT are dire, but Virgin ADSL is awful too. Do you have any LLU providers at your exchange? www.samknows.com can tell you.
