Hi Guys,

I don't have a clue about pc games so please be kind lol

I have a Gaming Pc but is a few years old, some of the newer games I want to play, such as BodyCam (I think it's called) and Arma 3 are not really playable.

My question is, can I just up grade the Graphics card to a more modern/powerful one or does it have to be an All round upgrade?

Cheers

Yes and no. Yes you possibly can, but if your rest of the PC is very old, it would be unworthwhile ie if you CPU is a dual core with 2GB of RAM and 300W PSU.

List the PC spec and we'll let you know whether you should upgrade just the GPU or get a whole new motherboard/cpu/memory/PSU/storage

You mean an SSD for example?

He means system memory/RAM. 8GB isn't enough anymore. You really want 16GB as the bare minimum, but given the cost of RAM it makes sense to upgrade to a 32GB kit. Make sure it's running XMP spec in the BIOS after installation as that has a decent effect on performance.

If you don't have an SSD, definitely get one. Get an NVME if your board can take one or a SATA SSD if it can't.

I'd do those upgrades and then consider a GPU upgrade if you're still not happy.

What resolution are you playing at?
