Why is getting a MAC code from Tiscali so difficult?

Was on hold for 12 minutes before I could speak to anyone. Then it is 20 questions, speak to our technical cr@p team again and then they cut me off.

Is it really impossible? Why does that company still exists?

My blood is boiling. Grrrr...

Tiscali support are a bunch of chumps on minimum wage, headed by team leaders who may or may not care, and with clients (Tiscali themselves) whose SLA are not based on good service...

IMHO

Got email from the dreaded Tiscali and my MAC with be with my in 5 days. Surely it doesn't take five days to copy and paste a MAC code from their system into an email.

O'well. Will just have to wait.

your lucky - I had to run a 30 meter RJ45 cable to my neighbor whilst he was trying to escape from Tiscali - no worries with o2

Tiscali are among the worst ISP's. My old landlord put them in our old apartment, always tried to save a penny. Thankfully, I managed to escape to Sky, my poor landlord was still being billed by Tiscali 6 months later - it took around the same amount of time for them to refund him.

At least he learned

Cheap usually equals pants

and,

Tiscali
Terrible speeds
Even worse Customer Service
Even worse again Billing

:D

That 5 day mail is standard, ofcom used to have a 5 day rule by which an isp had, legally, to provide a mac within 5 days of you requesting it. In reality it should take less than an hour. It's worth pointing out that since complaints dropped so low it's now just a guidline but it does mean complaints get dealt with individually.
