I'm currently with Plusnet and I'm planning on switching to Zen when I move into my new house on the 9th November. I phoned Zen to hopefully setup an order ahead of time, but they said there is a pending cancellation on the line and they can't put the order through. Which is fair enough, I can wait.

Yesterday I submitted a cancellation with Plusnet for the 8th of November and had confirmation of cease of service.

Today I received another email from Plusnet saying:

Another service provider has told us that you want to move your broadband away from Plusnet.

I presume that's from the people due to move into my current house. Are they going to run into problems with my cease of service still in the system and their new order?

No as I presume Plusnet won't cease your line, if they are asking you whether to allow the new owners to take over your line? I would let the new owners take over your Plusnet line, that should avoid you getting stung with the cease fee. Then setup a new contract with your preferred ISP at your new home when able to...

You could always ask the current owners of your new home, to cancel their cancellation, then you'll be able to place an order yourself to take over their line (and they should avoid a cease fee too) - just like the new owners of your house are doing. But if you don't mind the wait, potential cease fees and what not, don't bother lol.
