needs to be reasonably light and would like it to be <17" as I find them to be horribly oversized. decent rez

any ideas on a decent model/make budget up to 1K possibly a bit more for the right machine.

MSI GX740-061UK for a tad under £900, great GPU, but the CPU is a bit weak IMO. (i5 430/ATI5870)

The faster model with i7 is GX740-079 ( GX740-079US), but only found them in the US. If your not in a rush though you can get them delivered from the Bay for a little under £1k (no duty on laptops) but not sure about VAT.


Thinking of selling my few weeks old Dell studio 17 (i5 520/ati 5650) and ordering a MSI X740-061UK, then getting an i7 oem from ebay or something to improve the CPU if I find it struggling.
The Dell's ATI5650 is OK when overclocked (720/975), but its just bogging down a little with the settings I am used too.

Forgot to add I looked at Kobalts, but ppl seem to wait ages for delivery and not really sure the Nv cards they offer are worth having now.
