Moving house - phone/internet packages?

Afternoon all. Am looking for a bit of advice. I'm about to move house and a figured this is a good change to try and save on phone + ADSL bills. I currently get line rental and landline from BT with ADSL from Plus.Net. I'm not interested in any TV packages and don't really use the landline much but just have it for parents to call on (they don't like mobiles) and because I have to have a line to get ADSL.

So I'm wondering is there anyway to do all this cheaper - by now it must be possible to get internet and phone from the same company? Are there any clever technological options - just getting internet and running VoIP or is this more hassle than it's worth? What are my options?

One thought that crossed my mind is that if you are in a good signal area for a good mobile broadband service such as T-Mobile (£20/month) or Vodafone (£15/month) then this could work out cheaper overall because you could abandon your BT line.
