Moving house

Not particularly helpful but I can't not say how sickening it is to see such prices, from the perspective of coming from the south of England.
Oh yeah not a chance to get somewhere anyway near as nice if we wanted to move back down south (which is something we are also considering to be closer to friends who are mostly midlandsish and family split between cumbria and essex).

Yeah never mind housing, your first priority should be working out how to overcome the fact that your freedom was stolen by the m/billionaires.

Are your skills in demand?

If you're planning on having kids soon have a big think, you don't want to move to France have a kid and start their schooling there, realise you then want to come back to the UK and they have to start fresh in UK schools.

Obviously not impossible, people do move between countries but it would be a huge upheaval for a child.

Then again if you're having kids and you've got the option of moving you probably want to think about their future prospects wherever you'll end up? It may be lovely to live in rural France as a middle aged person, but it might be terrible for a teenager and then a young adult looking for work.

You're whole world outlook totally changes when you have kids, it's all about them and not so much about you.

The masses lapped up their snake oil promises and voted for it, not exactly stolen. And its hardly the first time its happened, people just dont learn.

If you want to work in France, you’ll have to have decent conversational French.

Check that any professional certifications you have are recognised in your target country. France is particularly fussy on this.

I live in Greece as a Brit, and have a YT channel with vids covering this, for Europe, visas, residency market access buying property, cost of living taxes etc. I don't believe I can link it here but drop me a DM if you want to have a look.

Do you blame the people pulling the strings or the (m)puppets?

Anyway, let's not go any further and feel the wrath of the mods.

Bit of both, I was indocrinated as a child into a certain belief system which I wont go into and I embraced it until I was capable of some critical thinking and changed my point of view.

I fully appreciate thats not always easy and I was lucky, but far too many people are willing to lap up the garbage they are fed without any critical thought even when egaged on their own terms.

You can only hide behind the wizard of oz defence so much until someone shows you what is behind the curtain and you still refuse to see the obvious bait and switch for what it is.

Yeah the thing with France is you NEED to speak French, it's not like a lot of other countries where you can get by and blag it without the native language, especially in certain areas of the countries. They're quite militate about their own language there, fair play to them.

Scotland (and the UK) have aways been and remain in Europe. I suppose you mean the EU or pedantically continental Europe.
