Moving Icons

I really didnt know where to post this but I see this as a software issue. Recently when I turn my pc on or after playing a game some of my desktop icons will have moved or completely disappeared. Its completely random and I know it aint the biggest issue in the world but any idea what it could be? Thanks

Op system: windows 7 64 bit

Does this happen after playing a game? Does the game exit successfully or crash?

It randomly happens after either playing a game or when I boot up my pc. Theres no crashing or anything, seems to be running fine

Yeah, when in the desktop im using 720 and when gaming im using 1080

That could well be it. Why is your desktop at 720 though?

Im currently using a cheap hd lcd tv that has a maximum resolution of 1080i. When using 1080 for the desktop it hurts the eyes and everything is too small and for games all it does is shrink the picture to make it look sharper hence the 720 resolution (i aint too clued up on monitors etc). Im on the hunt for a good monitor so shouldnt be a problem for too long

Set your games to the same res, they must look ghastly in 1080i

Or buy a proper screen

For your 1080 desktop:

Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display
Set to Medium-125%

You'll need to make this the default in your web browser too.
