Moving internal hdd to external

Hi,

Is it possible to disconnect 2hdd from case (connected to mb directly), setup both hdd in external dock, and restart computer with no side affects? Ie drive letter, mapping etc

You’ll be able to re-assign the drive letter anyway :)

I have about 6 drives and when a dodgy cable stopped it from being connected I lost all my desktop and documents (dedicated documents drive). Reconnecting it and setting the correct drive letter and everything was back to normal.
 
Thanks for the advice, realise it a basic question! Ill also check hidden system devices to see if old hdd needs deleted.
