Hi guys,
I've recently moved into a flat, where I'll be staying until next February while I attend college up in South Shields. The flat I've moved into is connected to Virgin Media, with one of the previous tenants having used the internet here. I'm interested in having it reconnected on the basic 'L' package, which might just about be worth it on a 12 month contract, but Virgin Media are wanting to charge £49.50 for standard installation. It's all here though, the cabling through the wall, the modem which seems to work etc. Should I really have to pay that £49.50, as I can't see how to remove it? All I need is the line reactivating their end, that's all, plus I can't take time out from college waiting for someone to turn up.
I've tried their webchat, which seems to be some automated thing that just throws the FAQ back at you by picking up on key words, and I've tried to call them but given up after 10 minutes waiting to get through. I suppose I could go into a store, but it's a bit of a trek to the nearest one to be honest.
Cheers, Mike
