Moving MBP while its on/sleeping

So, I pulled the trigger on a 13" MBP today.

Just wondering what the consensus is on moving the thing while its on?
Sort of want to just flip the screen down, put it in my bag and use it as and when I need to.
Any risk of hard disk failure or damage?

The disk should have parked in the time between you closing the lid and picking it up, so you should be fine.

Be careful of tilting it when a optical disc is spinning though - you'll know when you've done it.

You'll be fine and you really will have 'instant on' as it comes out of sleep mode.
