Basically they've left me with little to no spare wire to move my equipment, is it just as simple as extending the F cables to the dish? how far can I extend the cable before the signal strength will be a problem? any answers much appreciated!

You could get a roll of CT100 coax and make your own. I think I paid less than £20 for 100m of the stuff. Twist on F-type connectors are pennies each.
