Been speaking to someone in a different section about doing this but wondered if there's anyone else in here that could help please ?

I've ordered new mobo, memory, cpu the works from ocuk, I currently have windows 10 installed on my PC in sig which I've had for 6 years. ( I obtained this from windows 7 as the free upgrade ). It's installed on a standard 1tb hard drive. With the new parts I have ordered a ssd which I'd like to install windows 10 on if possible ??

Could anyone let me know if this is possible please ? Would be much appreciated thank you :D

Make sure you sign in to Windows with a Microsoft account, the go to settings, update & security and activation to ensure it says Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account.

When you reinstall on the new hardware, just run the activation troubleshooter and bobs your uncle.

Ah cool thank you , how do I go about getting the windows 10 install files ? Only have an old windows 7 cd somewhere

just as a heads up, you may need to call up Microsoft due to the hardware changes (it's an automated line that you plug a code into). I have had to do that in the past but was no problem.

What PiKe has stated is only valid if only the motherboard is changed, and since this is going to be a whole different computer it will refuse to activate regardless.
