Bought a new SSD and moving my games to it, done GOG and Witcher 3 so far, now gonna do NMM and Steam but need advice first.

A bit late now but you don't need to re-download Steam itself. Just copy the entire folder and then run the Steam app from within it after you've reinstalled Windows. It will download and set up all the bits and bobs it needs. You might want to do a Take Ownership on the folder before you do this to make sure file permissions are okay but you can often get away without it.
The above was posted in another thread and in regards to Steam, would that work just moving it from HDD (:E) to a SSD (:I) drive without problem and redownloading games ?? And if it is, how do you Take Ownership over the folder ?? Not sure if I am looking in the right place, is it: Steam Properties - Security Tab - Advanced Security Settings for Steam ? If it is, owner there is set for Administrators, would that be right ??

Also would like to, if possible, move Nexus Mod Manager to the SSD, can that be done when you already have games installed through NMM ?? If it can be done, anything I should pay special attention to, since would prefer not have to download the Fallout 4 mods again. :p

Thank you for taking time reading this and I appreciate any and all suggestions as to the above. :D

Thanks for your suggestions guys, much appreciated ! :)

A friend of mine asked why I didn't just checked Steam before asking so I did, was more or less similar to what you adviced me on though.

Moving a Steam Installation and Games

Although, no need to uninstall any games after moving it all. Just start the game, Steam does a download/verification of the content and then starts the game.

Once I done that, I thought since I don't have to many mods for Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 (the only one that I am using Nexus Mod Manager for) I just thought I take a chance and copy the Nexus folder over to the SSD. Once there, when I first started NMM it did the Rescan Installed Games, found most of those I have on the new location, but for FO4 it found the copied folder first so just had to click on the red X until the right path showed then confirm the location and all worked fine starting it up. All mods still showing and working once starting up the game. :D

I did however copy all the INI files for FO4, FO3 and Skyrim to another HDD, just incase the verification would change them to fresh ones, only started and played FO4 so far but couldn't see any changed in game, played for a couple hours last evening and it all worked fine for me. :)

Once again, thanks for your suggestions, greatly appreciated! Hopefully someone else might find this useful if they thinking about doing something similar. :)

If you're moving NMM installs don't forget to copy over the NMM mods folder and the NMM install logs folder or it'll "forget" which mods you've installed (the mods will still exist in your folders but NMM won't be able to uninstall them)

Thanks, just made sure they were at the right location now. Appreciate the advice incase I be uninstalling any of them I have. :)
