With o2 being eaten up by sky I was looking around to move to another provider (if it is necessary)

I was tempted with BT with their free BT sports and 6 months free and then be able to move to an infinity package when they get round to enabling round my way (next year some time :( ). Though I am with Sky for TV though I don't know if they will do me a deal(?)

I currently pay £11pcm for o2 with a static IP though I'm not sure if I need one anymore as I only had it to satisfy ruuning my htpc so over the 18mth contract period it ends up pretty much the same but I get free sports with BT.

Is this a good idea?

sky isnt that bad you know, all you have to know is your stuff when you ring. They will more than likely keep you on o2 equipment for a while before they migrate you, as an ex o2 customer I cant cant fault sky's cs when I've wanted something done. I can say I do miss my 1.3mb upload speed but I now live in the sticks so I have to make do with my 7mb down on a 40db line (interleaved) and 830 up. My ping in games may not be as good but 25 to 30 is ok, I'd say stick with sky till you get fibre as BT is a lot worse and I've been there.
