Moving on up (upgrade)

after a few posts in the gfx and cpu sections i am still no closer
to deciding on my build, would like some sugestions please
Budget £2000 ish for the tower

its either 6700k or 5820k nothing else.

Case Define S
custom loop afterwards £400 ish
1440p 144hz monitor £380
depending on gfx card

Im thinking
6700k
asus VIII ranger
crucial balistix 16gb dual chan 2666mhz (tactical)

or
5820k
Msi krait /or x99A
Kingston fury 16gb quad chan 2400mhz

Most likely 2 ssd's and a 1 or 2 tb hdd
250 gb samy (boot main apps)
500 gb samy (steam / games)
1tb WD Black (storage lesser played games etc)

how about an 860w seasonic for power?

Totally usnure on the Gfx card do i buy something to hold me over till next Gen?
Or splurge now and worry about it later

ofcourse this brings us to the monitor most likely an Acer panel
so free/gsync 1440p 144hz or whatever is cool currently...

Well what I'm doing is to rely solely on the 6600K's Intel IGP graphics for the next 6 to 9 months. Because it's good enough to get by on for me.

Then you will be able to buy a 'proper' graphics card. E.g. a 16nm one with HBM. The difference will be pretty substantial vs any of the todays cards.

Of course you could just buy some 2nd hand card as temporary for the time being. Like a GTX 670 or whatever from a previous generation.

The 6700k won, I splurged also

probably should have flipped a coin for that to
Ohh well to late now...

to be honest has taken me an extremely long time to save for it all
i was at the end of my patience - heres to the next 5yrs of gaming!

There's nothing wrong with the 6700K whatsoever. Except that it cost £100 more than the 6600K which is 'nearly as fast, nearly all of the time'. As is 4790K, 4770K, and all the other 'recent' ones 5675C etc.
