Hey Guys

about to do some upgrading and need to move my origin folder ready for a wipe and reinstall of windows.

I have a second drive so is it as easy as moving it to another disk, reinstall origin on new drive, start downloading games then pause and replace then repair?

thanks

JB

Origin is a little different from steam. Don't start downloading before you have moved the data into the folder where you need it. Also make sure you point origin towards your new folder with the existing data. When you start the games download it should scan for existing files before it starts and it should pick up your data.

Might have just have been me but if I pause, copy files over and resume origin just tends to re-download the whole thing.

Just copy the games back to the origin games folder and tell origin to install them. It'll find the game files.

i tried a number of methods over the weekend which resulted in my redownloading bf1 again.

the methods i tried were

copy to new location
change install location in origin
click install

(this resulted in trying to redownload the game again)

then i found another method.

change location in origin
click download
let it get to a few %
close down origin
copy files and overwrite files
reopen origin

(this resulted in trying to redownload the game again)

then i found the best method (internet speed dependant) bf1 takes 50ish mins to download for me

just redownload the game again.

thats the only way i could move locations of my game.

few ideas there, thanks for that.

I don't just have BF1 though, there are a few totalling 119Gb. bit much to just let it re-download if I can help it.
