Hi all,

I did a fresh install of windows yesterday installing my OS to my SSD. The problem was when I did this it wouldn't actually boot up afterwards (possibly because I had both my normal HD and SSD connected at the same time?). Anyway its resulted in me saving my OS to my HD when I really want it on my SSD.

Is there an easy way to do this? As it stands it would just be a straight like for like transition as I haven't installed any additional programs yet?

Any help is much appreciated.

Kind Regards

I would fresh install on the SSD. Are you sure the PC didn't just put the boot record/system reserved partition on your HDD but actually install the OS on the SSD. Happened to me before and had to delete this from the HDD and then boot with only the SSD connected, which seemed to fix it.

Alternatively there are a few programs that allow you to morrow the partition onto you SSD.

Few ways around it, I'd reinstall again with only the ssd connected to the motherboard. Then reconnect once its installed, when you get into windows use easybcd to remove any records on the HD (don't really need to do this, but cleans it up).
