You've probably all read from me before about my parents upping and planning to move to Northern Ireland.

You probably all know that i don't want to go either.

So looking at getting a place with a mate and his girlfriend

So living there will be -

Me (Paying)
Girl i'm seeing (Not paying, only staying occasionally)
Friend (Paying)
Friend's girlfriend (Paying)

So i worked out a few things with some help from some people on MSN.

Does £5000 a year sound right for -

Rent
Gas
Elec
Water
Food
Internet
TV License and SKY/Cable
Tax
Insurance

Anything missing?

Does that sound like a figure that is right?

House prices in my area are average at around £140,000.

Some are more (Mum and dad's is £200,000)

If anyone can shed any light or opinions on this please :)

Andy

I've recently been looking to rent a place, will be looking to buy next year hopefully......House i live in belongs to my parents and theres a chance they could be moving back to Glasgow in the next few months.......So no way i'm hanging around.....Will miss the money i'll have to pay for rent but it's worth it for privacy and peace! :D

5k sounds cheap to me......Although i have no idea what kinda housing your looking at...I'm looking at 1 bedroom flats in and around my area......Looking at 400-500 a month rent.....Add Council Tax and such on top and it all gets rather chi ching

Nah, just means we will have to pay a bit more.

Frankly they won't break up.

They are meant for each other and they've been together for 5 years now and are more in love now than ever.

Andy

EDIT: Was just looking at places and i can get a 3 bedroom house for £550 per month.

Which when split up etc... isn't much.

I'm a single bloke with a 2 bedroom flat and I reckon it costs me £10K to live. Thats all bills, food, car, rent council tax. So £5k a years sounds low to me even if you are sharing some costs
