on my old CRT when im playing games, whatever graphics setting i run at. i get this kind of weird distortion when i move in games like bf2 and doom (LLOADS in doom). its not really stuttering like when you have the graphics too high... its hard to explain. its like a horrizontle line that kind of messes the texture up.

when playing a game...say their is a sign or a poster and the words are bright yellow over a black background. if i try to read the words while moving the mouse, its not readable..

kind of goes like this --- ---
----- -----

but the fps is high and its smooth as hell??

would this be a monitor problem that will be fixed with a tft

i try taking an ss of it by moving around then pressing print scrn sysrq. the ss comes out with no distortion...

For whatever reason, tearing is more noticeable on a TFT. I guess it's something to do with how they refresh the screens, TFTs and CRTs do it in a fundamentally different way.

Best thing to do on a TFT is leave v-sync off and put up with the tearing though, because having v-sync on at 60 Hz can really hit your framerate. You could try 75 Hz with v-sync on maybe, might help a bit, or see if the game has tripple buffering (or even force tripple buffering on with your video card drivers if possible). The higher your refresh rate, the less fps you lose by having v-sync on.
