definately get the trackpad, the mouse is awful IMO too

Of course it can. I use HDD fan control. I swapped out the hard drive for a 256GB SSD and it works perfectly.

The Magic Trackpad is great for general computer use but for gaming and photoshop style work you need a mouse.

Yes but be aware that the fancy multi button/feature ones may not have OS X drivers for the special buttons/features.
