As per title, if I were to buy a new iPhone 11/12 in the UK, but will be moving to live in Brazil, would I be able to just put a local Brazilian sim card in the phone or (apologies for the lack of technical terms) does the hardware only work on the region they were produced for?

Just want to make sure before I drop a wedge on what will potentially be a brick :)

It will work providing:
  • The iPhone is unlocked
  • It’s modem supports the required bands used in Brazil
It looks like Brazil use the following bands:
  • 2G: GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900
  • 3G: UMTS 850, 2100
  • 4G: LTE 700 (28), LTE 1800 (3), LTE 2100 (1), LTE 2600 (7,38)
iPhone model numbers and supported bands are here: https://www.apple.com/uk/iphone/cellular/
