Looking at moving to dslr from a bridge camera. The cost is scary though. My aim would be to shoot macro and print up to a3. Would a used nikon d80 be any good, I don't want to spend a lot at this stage.
Cheers.

Thanks guys, will start looking at lenses.
Also what is a good shutter operation count? How does it affect the camera over time?

Nearly a month of dithering going around in circles looking for a replacement for my Fuji HS50EXR I have finally bitten the bullet.
Started at used dslr, then cheaper new ones, then increasingly more expensive ones. Then went back to looking at modern bridge and compact system cameras.
However today I got what I think is a bargain, a Nikon D5300 with AF-P VR 18-55 lens.
Choice came down to as cheap as possible with as many pixels as possible on as large a sensor as possible.
Looking at a 70-300 lense a bit later.
Got to wait up to 7 days for delivery.

Camera arrived Wed after a Sunday order. It's smaller than my HS50EXR but 50% more pixels and an APS-C sensor.
Already ordered a 70-300 lens to assist.
