Moving to ITX

That's good OcUK have that board although I'd advocate selling up and building a newer ITX based setup instead of going with it. With hindsight it's the board I would have purchased instead of the Asus B550I I stopped using after the VRM fan became noisy. Asus warranty turned out to be worthless as they don't have spare parts to send out, and I'd prefer any other form of torture than attempting to encourage the retailer I bought it from to uphold my consumer rights towards a satisfactory solution.

If you bought the item with a credit card you can claim against the credit card company instead. There are often posts here about dealing with retailers or warranty claims with manufacturers and getting shafted but people don't seem to mention that if you buy the item (as long as the total purchase at one time is over £100) with your credit card then the credit card company are jointly and severally liable for that purchase and any guarantee claims even if the original supplier goes bust.

I bought some single board computers from a retailer some time ago and the first three are still going without issue but one died after eight months. The retailer said I could buy a new one or gtfo and stopped responding to me. I raised this with my credit card company who initially said it was too long after the purchase period so I told them they were liable for the guarantee and they refunded me the cost of the item from that purchase.

If you get no joy from your credit card company you can escalate it to the financial ombudsman. So always buy with a credit card.
