Well after looking on EE and deciding the contract plans they are charging are beyond extortionate for the IPhone 11 £65 cheapest I could see and as for the pro!
I’m thinking maybe better to buy direct from Apple £36 a month or £41 for the pro then sim only £20.
Now never been sim only, so do I keep my existing number and account details or do they send me a new SIM?
Signal with EE where I live is perfect so don’t really want to change network.

Contact EE and see if you can haggle a deal on the 11 Pro as you're an existing customer. Sometimes can get good deals through the website online chat thing too.

Failing that look at indirect partners like buymobiles, affordable mobiles, and comparison sites like uSwitch, as they are usually cheaper than going with the networks directly. Sometimes you'll have to port your number out to another network and back in, but two days moving your number around is a small price to pay for the savings :D

Could work out cheaper than getting a SIM and buying the handset over 24 months from Apple.

I mean I’m not totally set on Apple, I may go back to Samsung in all honesty. Bit bored of paying top tier pricing for stuff.
My alternative option is the S20 fe is a much friendlier price of £55 per month. Or I can try and rope in the NHS discount.

If you're due an upgrade, you can just upgrade to a SIM Only plan through your account.

Worth keeping an eye out for 24 month 0% PayPal Credit deals. eBay (among others) do them from time to time. I get 20% student discount on EE, and it's still (mostly) cheaper to go down this route.

Pixel 4a makes me smile every time I see it on their store. £41/month on a 40GB tariff for a phone which costs £349. Oh, and they want another tenner upfront. It's £165 cheaper to buy the phone outright from Google and take EE's 100GB SIM Only tariff...

I changed to SIM only with EE years ago, 12GB, unlimited minutes/text, 4G max, BT sport - £16 a month.

If you're thinking of an S20 FE, why not consider the new Sony Xperia 5 II, £35 a month with 50GB on EE, no up front using code VC30 at buymobiles.net

Hugely better deal ;)

I am with EE on a SIM-only contract and they did it over the phone. I kept my number and everything. And buy your phone outright.

Yeah I’m very tempted by one of them, I’ve had a fair few Sony phones to be honest, my last one was a Xperia Z5 it was awesome at the time. Till it got screen burn in.

Yeah I’m half tempted to do it that way, £20 for the sim and £37 a month for a 128gb iPhone 12 or even a pro at £41. £62 is the maximum I’m willing to pay for a phone and contract max.
