So I've just been offered a secondment to toulouse France, and was wondering if anyone has any experience of living in France or toulouse for that matter and could give me some advice as this will also be my first time moving out of home?

If you don't know it already, learn French. As its a secondment you should be able to push for French lessons. Are they going to help you move?

Toulouse is a lovely city and not far from the Pyrenees, make the most of it! French work/life balance is brilliant - don't be the only Englishman in a French office. It took me ages to get used to how the French work, and I still did too many hours regularly, but learn to dial back a bit and enjoy the better balance you can get. Are you getting a French contract or not? Fingers crossed its French...

Toulouse is fantastic, probably the best location to be in TBH. Lovely town.

Learning french is probably a good idea -- wouldn't know as I was shipped with the language built-in ;-) Also there's lot of UK expats there or thereabout, so you might not be too isolated...

I'm going to be in a hotel for the first month then i have to find my own accomodation, however there are a few other poeple from my office who went over there a couple of months ago so i wont be out there on my own so to speak. Apparantly most of the office communications are in english which shouldnt be to bad.

only problem is i decided to do a german GCSE years ago, maybe french would have been better in hinsight.

Now I need to figure out how to take my computer over only just finished building it a couple of days ago

Probably best to just remove the cpu cooler ( if its a air one ) and gpu(s) :D

basically anything that has quite a lot of tension on it that could snap under a jolt :) other than that just a lot of bubble wrap!

Just be prepared for how difficult finding a place by yourself is in France.

You will need a dossier containing (French) bank details, address (Yes I realise the catch 22 situation here in some cases), and importantly references.
