Moving Windows 7 image backup

Just took a system image of my Nephews laptop today using Windows 7 having done a clean install. I used my portable HDD and now I want to copy the backup onto my PC but it seems to be impossible. The image appears to be hidden within the folder so to speak but trying to copy it doesn't work. I just want to copy the backup image to my desktop HDD. Anyone have any experience of this?

Just used the Windows 7 backup and restore centre to create a system image. Would have used Macrium reflect but seemed pointless when Windows 7 can create the image for me.

Yeah I see the folder on my portable HDD but can't seem to copy it over. Not sure why. Should be straight forward but seems to be something to do with the way the folder is created.

Got it sorted. Had to open the folder and then open each subfolder one at a time and grant full access for each of them. It's copying over fine now. Strange..

I give up. Seems the image will have to stay on my portable HDD!
