I just got the update, just letting all the people who haven't got auto update turned on know about it

Cheers. It is auto downloading now. 6.1Mb? Seems like the whole thing is being downloaded not just a hotfix/patch as this new autoupdate feature was meant to allow?

Not sure how big it was, I just got a pop-up telling me it'd been downloaded and was ready to install, maybe it was a rather big update and they decided just to make the patch the full program?

I've just done mine via the 'Check for Update' option, from 1.5.0.3 to this new release and it was only around 100K. Well I say 100K, it downloaded that quickly that I guess it's around the 100K mark.

It was a 500k autoupdate. My main pc updated itself overnight, and this laptop I'm on right away informed me of the update the moment I fired FF up

I love it!

i updated mine manually last night, but the autoupdate always fails on the 4 pc's i've got FF on, it tries to do it, fails then downloads the full 6mb everytime!

Was a deffo 500k or so update, all 3 of my pc's updated fine this morning when I woke up. Thunderbird seems to have just updated too (1.5.0.4) as I fired it up. Woo!

There's more than just security fixes - this for Thunderbird.
Don't see one for Firefox.

how come thunderbirds own "check for updates" never works?

u just checked and im using: version 1.5 Beta 1 (20050908) :eek:

Works fine for me (Mozilla/5.0 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1a3) Gecko/20060602 Thunderbird/2.0a1 ID:2006060211).

It's highly likely you're on a different update channel if you're running a beta. Easiest answer's reinstall from a release build.
