I've been using FF for years now but I recently noticed that after a few hours of use it starts to use upwards of 300,000kb of system memory in Task Manager. FF slows down my old laptop way too much but I can't understand why this happens as it never happened before 3.5 I don't think.

Give me your thoughts,

Jake

Annoying how on FF the more you change page the more memory it uses. Apparently its no way near as bad on other browsers. Only use FF so can't comment on that..

I just restart FF when its around 150k though it hardly affects me as i have 4GB ram anyway.

Firefox has well known memory leak issues. They often claim they've fixed them, but I don't think it has ever been completely fixed.

It remembers the entire history (back/forward) and cache for all tabs including "recently closed tabs". This can be hundreds of pages at the end of a day. Other browsers afaik dont have this facility.
