I've been using Thunderbird for ages now, but the past few days has been really strange. I noticed the other day that in my main Inbox I only had a handful of emails.
So I checked back on my SAN to an early backup I made and the Thunderbird folder was ~30Mb larger on the SAN. I copied this back over the top of the folder on the PC and sure enough, my emails were back. Strange.
I've been working fine since then (this was a few days ago) and I've been in my mail tonight with no problems. Yet I went in to Thunderbird about 20 minutes ago and exactly the same thing. This time though, the files on the SAN have been sync'd to the PC and overwritten also. So I've had to do a "Restore from previous version", and again, the main Inbox file is ~30Mb larger.
I've copied this back across, and hey presto, my missing emails are back again for the 2nd time.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be going on? All the mail in the sub-folders, etc is totally fine.
