Unfortunately I signed up for monthly and was advised that my next bill would be $11.99. I was going to sign up for the year last month but forgot.

I may email support asking if I can signup for 2 years on the old plan. No harm in trying.

That is correct. As my subscription is monthly the new package starts on my next billing date. They emailed me the same thing stating that I would need to pay 11.99 for 129GB of data on Feb 13th 2011.
