it seems my library of songs has become huge. now ive recently had a new headunit fitted in my gf's TT and it can read DVD music discs as i found out today, what i want to do is have it automatically create folders and place all the artists into them so i can burn them straight to disc as at the mo i have them all just in one dir so its kinda hard

anyideas?

I think that windows media player does this but it connects to the internet.

Tis one thing I religiously do, label date etc all my mp3's as I load them onto my computer. It's because I don't want to install Itunes on my machine and thus have the winamp plugin.

I've been after a bit of software or Winamp plugin that could do this for me. I had my MP3s/M4Ps all well organised until a recent format. I used the Windows Backup utility as my HDD was playing silly buggers - and I didn't realise it ignores folders. About 6 years worth of my CD collection (along with iTunes/Tesco downloads) all dumped unceremoniously into a single folder.

Because over the years I'd used different programs to rip from CD, I don't have a great deal of consistency with my MP3 filenames - lots of 01_blah_blah_ sort of thing.
