I am looking for an MP3 player for my father. Who is now nearly bed bound hence the purchase as he previously he listened on his computer

What is required -

Very simple to use, touch screen or physical buttons either is fine.

The most important feature is that it must allow Navigation of nested directories to find files. He will be copying over folders of MP3 files

Happy to give up on audio quality for the features above as it is audio books, spoken word rather than music.

Up to about 100 quid but happy to go higher if needed to get what he needs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Something like the Teclast M40Plus 10" tablet from amazon for ~£80 do?
1920x1200 resolution, 128gb on board and will take a 1tb microsd. USB C as well. Won't be the fastest thing out there, but could use it for reading as well as audio.

Stick a decent media player (I'm still very much a Poweramp person) on it and a large microsd card and you're good to go.

Cheers for all the help, I tried a old Android phone of with a few different apps but I think he would have struggled that with that. So ended up buying a Sony NW-E394, its simple to use and has the required nested folder structure for navigation. Seemed expensive for what it is at £75 but hopefully he will be pleased with it.
