Hi guys,

Looking at buying some form of small player for playing MP3 and other formats are just a bonus. I'll explain the main uses below then hopefully anyone with some experience in this area can give me some hints on some good models.. ;)

Basically i'm looking for something to meet these specs...

Size - small as poss, though as long as it fits in my pocket that's just fine
Cost - Max of £40
Supported Formats - MP3, and anything else is a bonus
Storage Space - 10gb, but less is fine providing i get a decent amount of tracks on it, i can rip tracks fine so no worries about HUGEEEEEE files....
Brand - not fussed, anything that won't die quickly
Battery Life - This is an area i'd like to focus on, so any recommends on either something i can charge or lasts long is a great addition

I'm only after something that i can listen to for a few hours a day minimal for learning French (have CD's but will rip them to MP3), but i'd still appreciate something i can use for music on the way to work etc....

Few family members have ipods, and i know they're pricey, but i'm not in need of something quite so flash, i can personally think iTunes sucks balls..... though i could be persuaded if the price suits.

Last time i listened to music on the move was using a walkman (for playing cassettes), so i'm really not upto speed with this MP3 player tech....

Any hints, tips or suggestions are welcome guys..... ;)

TIA :)

P.S. If i'm asking too much for the budget, just point it out, i can either increase the budget or lower the requirements, either way i need an MP3 player.... so please feel free to comment guys.. ;)

Your going to be hard pushed to find an MP3 with a capacity of 1Gb+ at £40. Best i could find was this ...
A creative Zen 1Gb
You may have to up your budget to get a larger capacity mp3 player.

A well known competitor is good at MP3 players
