i currently use windows media player 10 to rip my cds to mp3 format, the problem is that some of the files it rips it doesnot want to play, it comes up with an error message saying that it does not support that file format.

does anyone no a free mp3 converter i could use.

Thankyou

Google for...

CDex or EAC (Exact Audio Copy) + LAME or grab a copy of Winamp...

out of the three I'd recomend EAC + LAME... Very easy to set up, I've never had a problem with it!... does CBR/VBR etc... Never had a crap MP3 from it!...

and for playback... Ditch WMP 10 and get either WMP 11 (Beta) or go for the best!... get Winamp 5

Here my good man is CDeX.

An unbelievably easy to ripper for mp3 and or WAV.

Its small in size and can obtain all the tags for tracks off the net.

There are a few tutorials availble on the interweb to obtain excellent setting values using the default LAME codecs, and in the options and setting menu you can set the bit rate to 192kps or get it to adjust the bit rate per track as it sees fit (which is handly but can create some LARGE file sizes)

Let me know if you'd like a hand setting it up (if you use it!)
