MP3 Re-encoder

So most of my MP3 files are ripped at around 320kbps. But before I put them onto my phone (which I use as a music player) I want them re-encoded down to about 128kbps.

Is there any free software out there that can can batch re-encode a bunch of MP3s to a specified bitrate?

Xillisoft have a product which can do that. it's paid for (not much) and I can't remember what it's called (comething like Xillisoft Audio Encoder)...

Or, if you're happy with scripting, lame or mplayer should be able to do the job for free. (I imagine if you can't write the script yourself, a search of the web should yield results).
 
You can batch convert in dBPowerAmp! Amazinly good prog tbh!

Don't you suspect that 88 days later, the OP might have solved his problem and that your input is therefore useless?

No matter how you try and pad it out, it's blatent spam. Somebody is eager to get into the MM, me thinks.

Some people have lifes and don't study post dates on forums :rolleyes: I simply searched for posts on encoding and gave an opinion. Get over it :rolleyes:

P.S) I have no desire to get into MM, I only buy new components if you must know! So stop assuming as it makes you look like a complete tool
Also bledd posted as well yet I don't see you calling him a spammer! Is it because I have a low post count compared to him? Your a joke tbh
