Ive found a bunch of these apps online, some free, some not and wondered if anyone here has used any. I recently got a G1 Android phone and want to get the album artwork to show so I need to edit the ID3 tags..

Any ideas?

Media Monkey is pretty good at this for me. I was trying to use it to replace Winamp but I can't. :p Winamp however is shoddy with album art I've found. So I use Winamp to play stuff but Media Monkey to sort album art out for me. :)

I'd second that, Media Monkey gets my vote. I've used it to tag all my music, FLAC and MP3, well worth it IMHO.

I couldn't get along with MediaMonkey, but perhaps I just didn't spend enough time with it. I'll give TagScan a shot. Thanks for the link.

On the same note, is there a good app for sorting files into folders? I have a few thousand song titles that I ripped from my Time/Life collection and they all appear in "Various Artists", then with the album name. I would like to have them sorted into folders for each artist, then album. What app can read the tag and do this (besides iTunes)?

I think TagScanner can handle that for you.

Media Monkey gets my vote, I have over 120gb of music now in various formats and I managed to tag most of it through MM. For the odd ones I just Googled the album name and added it in manually

Ive played with media monkey over the past few days and I have been pretty impressed, its excellent at tagging and finding artwork and a pretty good player to boot! I think I'll be getting rid of iTunes!

I use the basic winamp feature to rename all my mp3s properly in the id3tag, it searched online for over 12000 tracks, did this last weekend and properly updated every single one with track/disc/title/artist/album/genre/composer/publiser etc in around 30minutes was really impressed.

i then use cdartdisplay to auto update the album art for a track if it doesn't have any, works really well
