Hi Guys
is there any software that will change all my 128bit MP3s to 320bits. or is there maybe any other format i could change them to so it gives me better sound .
Thanks all

:)

You'll be needing the original CD's to then convert to 320bits to really achieve a better sound.

Transcoding 128kps to 320kps will sound worse, you've already thrown out the data. You need to the original CD or a flac rip from a CD.

you should only make 320kbps mp3s from lossless files like flac or direct from cd. you could in theory re-encode those files- but the sound would be exactly the same but the files would have a much larger filesize. :p

as for your 128kbps files - they have had all the life stripped out of them. there's nothing you can do to get it back. you can't polish a turd.

edit: far too slow. :(

EAC is ripper, Flac is just a EXE. Once it's setup it appears to be one app. EAC is known to be best ripper, and using latest flac encoder that way.

Just rip em as wavs.

No. No tag info or replygain, and will be huge.
In EAC naming structure use this

%A\%C\%N - %T

and in external compressor use this (don't forget to navigate to flac exe folder and to name .flac in extension)

-8 -V -T "artist=%a" -T "title=%t" -T "album=%g" -T "date=%y" -T "tracknumber=%n" -T "genre=%m" %s

Dont you just love OCUK forums. just when u think its all over someone pops up and says
DBPoweramp.:) ok what does DBPoweramp do. tell me all about it in 6 pages or more please. :D

Dbpoweramp is a transcoder. It's useful for converting one format to the other, but since you have Mp3 you don't want to do this. dbpoweramp isn't free anyway (add on packs) Foobar will also transcode.
