.mp4 and Xebian

Is there a way to get Xebian to play mp4s? I've W32Codecs installed but to no avail - any ideas?

.mp4 is a container format. What's the codec in use within the file? What backend decoder is in use on the system? gStreamer+mPlayer/VLC/Xine should handle most popular formats, including XviD and H.264.

try VLC... it plays them for me
