My camera records in MP4 which is an Apple format. I have Ulead Videostudio 10 and Serif Videoplus 5. Neither will take MP4 and it would be wasted money if I stopped using those. Out of the freebies, I tried Virtualdub which claimed to support MP4 but doesn't. I also tried Avidemux which does take MP4, although the sound becomes choppy and choppiness reflects onto the finished file too. I checked my Olympus camera box to see if there was a software CD. My older Olympus cameras always came with a CD but turned out this one doesn't.
Seeing that apparently no video production software will edit MP4s, I'm now after something that'll convert my Apple files into a more conventional format like AVI, which I know my paid programs will take. I did a search on OcUK. Loads of people asking the opposite question; AVI-to-MP4 (answer=Handbrake) but no one asking my question. I tried Handbrake anyway, but indeed it only converts to MP4 not from MP4. Tried AutoGK, Pazera, no luck so far.
Thanks guys.
