MPC-HC(media player classic) RIP

Nothing wrong with it in general, MPC is just better, more useful information, control and features. The GUI is better (more functional) as well, and that's against the skinned version of VLC.

Do you use MPC-hc exclusively though ?
MPC-hc does not do media management/playlists with a textual list of your medias filename plus meta-data, as illustrated in some of the vlc tutorial here .
So I often use vlc to find the media and mpc, with its powerful controls, to play it - am I missing something in mpc-hc ?
(VLC, like plex, has fancy thumbnail/gallery views too - if you like graphics.)

With MPC I also use renderer->output-presentation->D3D full screen mode,
to lighten the graphics load, when using MPC on an extended 2nd monitor, if I want to continue to work on other monitor - MPC's gui is not as pretty in this mode.

That's where MPC-BE comes in, it's a dark themed MPC-HC.

I do use MPC exclusively though, just have VLC for the odd files here and there. I also use playlists in MPC but I have no need for metadata as it's not something that's ever needed for videos for my uses.
