Something I've always not manager, or been bothered to do (especially now that I have unified remote and MPC-HC for Android), I'd like to get my MCE remote to control MPC-HC.

MPC-HC is my default player when played through windows MC (windows 7). How do I get the remote to work such as Pause/Stop/Skip, etc?

Thanks

I'll test tomorrow, but I think if you go to options, key, tick 'Global Media Keys' it will enable the use of it

Try this: http://www.avforums.com/forums/home...-mce-remote-windows-media-player-classic.html

Its based around getting media portal to work but some of it might help you.

Failing that if you can get it to work native via MPC-HC, look up eventghost...

It can capture the remote input and you can basically map any button on remote to any marco, key combo etc.

I used it on my media centre for multi key shortcuts and so i can launch IE from remote etc - good software

Yeah, I've tried that too, doesn't work. My remote is actually an Origenae remote based on the MCE remote but not quite. So natively, WMC stuff works but it won't map the keys in MPC-HC.

I found eventghost earlier, but genuinely wouldn't know where to start!

It isn't as hard as it looks initially, I should be able to guide you though bits if needed.

Basically you install it, right click the bar down the left and select clear.

Then browse over the actions list on the right till you find the media contol option your after (like play, pause etc).

ok the above is alittle simplified but I've got in on a active media centre so it won't take too long to get a few screen grabs for a quick tutorial if your really struggling with it.

I take it your remote does actually work in something yeah :)

Yeah, that's the one I use. My remote isn't actually a proper MCE remote. Its the one provided with origeae cases, it's a Philips jobbie, but the MCE keys are on it and work with MCE ok.
