MPEG4 not playing on my PS3!!!

Anyone else been having this problem lately?

I have tried using 'PS3 Video 9' and 'PS3 Video Converter 3' to convert avi to play on the PS3 but whenever I do it lately it plays back fine on my PC but says unsupported file on the PS3!!!

but the software I use is supposed to convert it to a playable format on the PS3.... I just dont get it!
