Hi

I am going to change my monitor

I am unsure what to go for here

either :

i tend to do gaming and work , this is a General use monitor, so pretty much everything, gaming, browsing internet, word, excel etc

32" or 27" @ 2K ?

I'm in the same position as you too. There's also the MSI Optix G273QF & the LG GP850.

G274QF is cut down parts budget model and has basically nada for stand adjustments.
So count possible monitor VESA stand into cost.
(or take stand from old monitor if it goes to WEEE)
Also colour gamut is below DCI-P3 instead of covering also AdobeRGB like MAG274QRF-QD.

Again for some inexplainable reason LG's 27" 2560x1440 "Nano-IPS" has crap contrast from 15+ years ago.
And contrast is never strength of IPS to start with.
So that's only for brightly illuminated room.
(AU Optronics panels have 40+% higher contrast)
Also nowadays LG can't anymore make really wide gamut panels and is stuck at DCI-P3.

seems like 27" has a 1440p sweet spot
32" 4K ?

so i think ill get the MSI 27" one

Thanks for your reply. It looks like I'm back waiting for the MAG274QRF-QD to drop in price a bit.

It's crazy how stagnant the monitor market is in comparison to the TV market. I've currently got a 7yo? Asus PG278Q that's got horizontal lines, so it needs replacing. But, as you say the above monitors have similar contrast ratio, albeit better viewing angles. It just makes me apprecaite my OLED TV all the more
